Overview

The Coding Integrity Specialist will be responsible for medical record reviews in accordance with documentation and coding standards and clinical practice guidelines. The Coding Integrity Specialist will provide feedback of quality review results to provider and office staff and also provide on-site education as indicated.

Qualifications

* High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred. RHIT or coding certification (CPC, CRC or CCS) required.

* Three (3) years of experience in clinical coding or clinical quality data analysis required to include a solid understanding of MA, ACA and MCD risk adjustment documentation and coding standards.

* Ability to define problems, collect data and draw valid conclusions.

* Experience with provider interaction/education and medical abstraction.

* High level of attention to detail.

* Ability to analyze data and deliver timely, accurate and relevant reports.

* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

* Solid conflict management skills, with the ability to identify, research and resolve issues and/or concerns.

* Experience utilizing independent judgment to render decisions.

* Time management skills, with the ability to work in a self-directed manner.

* Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passion, Caring, Trustworthy, Collaborative, Respectful and Accountable.

Essential Accountabilities

* Perform medical record reviews in accordance with documentation and coding standards and clinical practice guidelines.

* Refer issues requiring further intervention for on-site education to supervisor to determine next steps.

* Evaluate operational data to identify opportunities for intervention.

Hiring Compensation Range: $25 - $29 hourly

Compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to skills, education, location and experience.

In addition to base compensation, associates may be eligible for a scorecard incentive, full range of benefits and generous paid time off. The base salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
