DescriptionResponsible for reviewing and promptly filling guests orders for the shift, handling food in a safe manner and ensuring the work area is always clean and neat. Provides courteous, friendly, and efficient guest service to guests and team members.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as: espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino, and various coffee drinks
- Greets all guests with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with guests by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items
- Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, cookies, etc. for the coffee bar
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
- Maintains a clean and stocked workstation in accordance with established health and safety guidelines
- Operates a cash register/POS System, ringing the proper amount into the register and giving the guest the correct change
- Accounts for all cash, charge, and complimentary sales according to established procedure
- Maintains integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities
- Must project professionalism, and a consistently friendly demeanor
- Appears in publicity photos
- Promotes casino events and programs
- Provides personalized service and uses guest name
- Resolve service problems according to guidelines
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same
- Performs the duties of a Food Server, Cashier/Host, Steward, or Server Assistant as needed in assigned F&B outlets
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:Required
- Must be 17 years of age
- Must be able to read, write legibly, understand and speak English
- Basic mathematic proficiency
- Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by Prairie Band Casino & Resort Team Member Handbook
- A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment
Preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior cash handling and cash register experience
- Knowledge of coffee bar ingredients and experience in proper preparation techniques
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
- Must be able to reach above and below the shoulder, grip small items (i.e., pens, money, garnishes), bend, and stoop while preparing beverages
- Must be able to stand and walk for up to eight hours
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
- Able to work in constricting areas
- Able to tolerate second-hand smoke, noise, bright lights
- Able to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
- Must be able to meet the level three or medium work requirements based on the Department of Labor Dictionary of Titles: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly
