If you are just as passionate as we are, come join our Brew Crew!!The position we are brewing: The Roaster II is responsible for ensuring that their scheduled work in the Roasting department is completed to standard for output and quality each shift, including cleaning, organizing, and replenishing. Completing logs, forms, and preparing samples as directed by the Director of Roasting and / or the Senior Roaster, this position may also assume administrative responsibilities. What you will Measure and Blend: Roasting: Operate and cleaning on roasting system equipment:
  • Roaster machinery and afterburners.
Blending: Operate and ensure cleaning on blending system equipment:
  • Blending table & conveyors
Grinding:Operate and ensure cleaning on grinding system equipment:
  • Grinders
Documentation:Complete the following documentation at the direction of Senior Roaster and/or Director of Roasting:
  • Roasting logs
  • Afterburner temperature logs
  • Substitution forms
  • Rework logs
  • Bin tags
  • Organic purge forms
  • Lot number usage forms
  • Physical Inventories and cycle counts
Cleaning and Maintenance: Assigned complete cleaning tasks as outlined in work instructions and Master Cleaning ScheduleMaterial Handling: Ensure that green and roasted coffee are correctly rotated and replenished into the roasting areaQuality Assurance: Ensure that the correct coffees and lots are used against the intended production schedules and confirm that the roast times, temperatures, and Agtron values are all within specification, per each coffee's roast profile Food Safety:
  • Help maintain security of roasting department from unauthorized personnel or contaminants
  • Support foreign material control program by preventing the introduction of foreign material into the coffee. This includes regular checks of all screens, magnets, discharge gates, and product zones, as well as visual monitoring of the coffee in the cooling trays and bins
  • Support the good manufacturing practices program by observing proper hygiene, wearing gloves when in contact with product or product-contact surfaces, and preventing cross contamination by following proper procedures
  • Supporting integrated pest management by keeping doors closed when not in use, and reporting any pest activity observed in the work area
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of roasting department documentation
Deputy for: Senior Roaster Your Ingredients:
  • 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment for a retail or food company
  • Preferably intermediate knowledge and skills in computer programs, especially Microsoft office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

  • The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
