Position Overview:American Family Care (AFC) is seeking Collaborating Physicians to supervise and support Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, in compliance with state regulations. This flexible opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on healthcare while earning additional income through collaborative physician oversight.This role is ideal for physicians seeking minimal time commitment, a flexible schedule, and a chance to contribute to the development and success of APPs within the urgent care environment.Key Responsibilities:
- APP Supervision: Serve as a Collaborative Physician under state-specific regulations and the APP Collaborative Practice Protocol Agreement.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct quarterly comprehensive quality reviews of APPs' patient charts in person, ensuring all care meets the highest standards. Audit forms will be provided and require signatures from both the APP and Collaborating Physician.
- Clinical Oversight: Provide expert guidance and approval on patient care plans, fostering clinical excellence in urgent care.
- Team Collaboration: Actively engage with APPs to ensure compliance with medical practice standards and provide mentorship to enhance their clinical skills.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all care delivery adheres to HIPAA, state laws, and AFC policies.
Position Details:

- On-Site Requirements: Conduct in-person quality reviews as required by state regulations.
Position Qualifications:
- Valid Alabama state medical license
- Federal DEA and Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) licenses, free of sanctions
- Current board certification
- Willingness to obtain DOT certification if required
- Experience and ability to oversee care for patients of all ages
