Job Overview
The Colleague Advisory Specialist provides advice and support to People Leaders in handling performance and conduct issues through AskHR or inbound calls. They conduct analysis regarding performance issues across the enterprise and target actions, programs, and processes to improve employee selection and performance. The Colleague Advisory Specialist independently investigates employee-initiated claims in partnership with Legal, Human Resource Business Partners, and People Leaders, ensuring compliance with company policies, practices, and applicable laws. They also perform other assigned duties.
What You Will Do
- Provide advice and support to People Leaders regarding employee performance and conduct issues, including executing the Performance and Conduct Management process for associates below VP level.
- Coach People Leaders to develop management-employee relations and decision-making skills, guiding them to the best course of action.
- Manage performance and conduct-based corrective action administration, including reviewing documentation, drafting and/or reviewing corrective action forms, and preparing People Leaders for presenting corrective actions.
- Ensure timely and consistent follow-up on performance improvement and progression through the Performance and Conduct process, contributing to a stronger talent pool across the enterprise.
- Measure and analyze employee performance and conduct issues to track trends and develop proactive programs for performance improvement and success.
- Conduct investigations and resolve employee-initiated claims, including but not limited to Solutions InSTORE claims, TUWYT (Tell Us What You Think), Global Compliance, and Presidential letters, partnering with the Centers of Expertise and the Law Department as appropriate.
- Manage individual investigations, including interviewing employees, People Leaders, and witnesses, ensuring claim resolution consistent with company policy and process.
- Initiate and maintain Salesforce case tracking for investigations and performance and conduct issues.
- Communicate with and influence People Leaders regarding the application of company policies and procedures.
- Navigate challenging situations using effective conflict resolution techniques.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders with differing points of view, maintaining confidentiality of complex and highly sensitive subject matter.
- Act independently to influence outcomes by providing sound, consistent advice to all levels of the organization.
- Recommend policy changes or enhancements based on experience with prior situations and identify unproductive internal processes, suggesting improvements.
- Maintain associate files by imaging investigations and Performance and Conduct Management documents.
- Process performance and conduct terminations in a timely manner and respond to all related unemployment claims.
- Research confidential company records and online knowledge articles, and be fully knowledgeable of all company policies and procedures and their application. Strive for continuous learning, staying up-to-date on legal guidelines and internal policies to provide accurate guidance in response to inquiries.
- Collaborate with peers and business partners on special assignments to drive improved results and efficiencies.
- Exhibit flexibility in job assignments as part of a cross-functional team, positively impacting the engagement culture of the team and interactions with business partners.
- Leverage internal self-guided training resources through Ignite for personal growth and the development of self and others.
- Assess and mitigate risk associated with disciplinary actions, partnering with appropriate stakeholders.
- Train in other areas of Colleague Support and be able to move from one role to another when needed.
