If you have collection experience, consider a career in banking. Salary: $18.25/hour minimum. Job/salary offer would be commensurate with experience. Schedule: Monday-Friday GENERAL PURPOSE SUMMARY Attempts to locate and notify customers with delinquent loans to obtain payment(s) by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Communicates with customers to determine the reason for delinquency and to collect delinquent payments and late charges.
  • Analyzes financial statements, tax returns, and other documentation to recommend the appropriate course of action to supervisor.
  • Arranges repayment and forbearance agreements and other alternatives to foreclosure.
  • Prepares and sends required correspondence to borrowers, investors, mortgage insurance companies, government agencies, and other appropriate parties.
  • Reviews collections efforts and recommends a course of action to supervisor.
  • Adheres to current guidelines and collection procedures.
  • Prepares various monthly reports, researches collection related issues and performs record keeping functions.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Associates degree in a business-related field or two years of office related experience; or equivalent combination of education/training and experience. Preferred: One-year collection experience. SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to keyboard 35 wpm and operate a 10-key calculator by sight required. Word processing and spreadsheet software experience and ability to operate office machines preferred. The employee is required to be available for overnight travel by plane or vehicle occasionally. The ability to handle highly confidential information, frequent deadlines, and time constraints required. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. REASONING SKILLS: Ability to apply common sense understanding while carrying out written, oral, or diagram instructions; and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
