The Position:
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: The College Connection Coach is responsible for assisting the Directors of K-14 Initiatives in developing collaborative relationships with IPS schools and community organizations within, but not exclusive to, their assigned portfolio. The College Connection will work with the 4 IPS high schools and others as needed, providing excellent customer service, collaborative relationships, and support for all dual credit agreements. The position will support all dual credit and dual enrollment tasks including course offerings, teacher onboarding, student application, registrations, and knowledge assessment functions. The Coach will support teachers and counselors in all Ivy Tech related functions. The Coach will advise students on all Ivy Tech options for degree attainment. This includes certificates or degrees obtained while in high school or transitioning to Ivy Tech post high school. This position will support approximately 100 dual credit agreements and 40 dual credit teachers.
This Coach will maintain accurate records of students served, enrollments, school visits, and advising appointments, keeping close watch of changes in enrollments and increased successes.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The College Connection Coach (CCC) will implement strategies designed to enhance and increase the preparedness levels of high school students and assist in transitioning students to Ivy Tech for postsecondary education or training. Support dual credit and dual enrollment programming that leads to an Ivy Tech credential before graduating high school. The CCC will create academic plans aligning to an Ivy Tech stackable credential. Advise and share with all stakeholders that Ivy Tech is a viable option to support students. The Coach will monitor and report.
* Advise high school students about pathways to academic degrees and transfer opportunities with Ivy Tech by creating individual academic plans/degree trackers.
* Collaborate with high school counselors, teachers, and school personnel to address student needs/issues when appropriate.
* Manage assigned schools' dual credit and dual enrollment courses from application through registration. Work with teachers and students to assist with Dual Enroll applications, Knowledge Assessment and course registration.
* Maintain academic records in compliance with College and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
* Maintain ongoing communication and good public relations with high school students, parents, and school personnel by coordinating school visits and other recruiting and information activities.
* Maintain, update, and distribute dual credit, dual enrollment, and credential attainment resource materials to college and high school personnel.
* Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit students.
* Monitor student progress through a communication plan, regular meetings, interventions, assessments, and data collection and analysis.
* Promote dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities to high school staff, students, and parents.
* Provide academic advising support for dual credit and dual enrollment high school as well as home school students leading to a credential completion.
* Provide information about the College and promote relevant programs to students.
* Record and maintain student records through multiple student management tools.
* Assist students in gaining a basic understanding of the College's registration process and processes that need to be completed before the beginning of each semester for both dual credit and students.
* Assist students in interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curricula, pre-requisites, etc.
* Demonstrate developmental, academic advising that assists students in clarifying personal and academic career goals using appropriate student development, human development, and student learning theories.
* Demonstrate a strong commitment to student development and success through advocacy, positive attitude, adaptability, approachability, problem-solving, and support.
* Maintain current knowledge of the institution's academic programs, policies, curriculum, and student policies.
* Manage student connection caseload in a manner that promotes retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions.
* Participate and assist in the coordination of on-campus and off-campus events that support all stakeholders and K-14 program initiatives. This may include some evening or weekend activities.
* Serve on committees as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement, and evaluate program(s).
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
* Good public relations skills and self-motivation required.
* Must possess required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record-keeping.
* Must have reliable internet access for mobile office or work at home environment.
* Must be able to travel throughout Central Indiana in a mobile office environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in higher education and with high school-age youth.

Varies on needs of stakeholders. May participate in some evening events.
Special Instructions to Applicants:
This position will work out of the Ivy Tech Indianapolis Campus and travel, when necessary, within the College Connection Coach's assigned counties and schools. There is an expectation of travel throughout Central Indiana as well.

Starting Salary: $45,000
