College Laboratory Technician - Physics
**GENERAL DUTIES**
Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.
- Sets up, maintains, and organizes student laboratories
- Assists students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
- Maintains appropriate safety and hygiene standards
- Maintains required documentation related to laboratory activities
- Manages equipment and materials inventories.

Reporting to the Chief CLT, a College Laboratory Technician performs the duties that include but are not limited to:
+ Assisting in setting up, taking down, and maintaining undergraduate and masters' level Physics and Astronomy laboratory experiments and classroom demonstrations
+ Overseeing the undergraduate computer laboratories in the Physics Department
+ Assisting in training and supporting laboratory instructors
+ Assisting students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
+ Assisting faculty in the graduate research laboratories with equipment maintenance and repair.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Working experience in safe handling of electronic and other research-sensitive equipment and instrumentation
+ Working experience in repairing electronic instruments
+ Working experience in workplace safety protocols, including handling of chemicals
+ Working experience with machine shop tools
**COMPENSATION**
The salary range for this position is $47,509-$69,517
