Who You Are:
You will work under the direction of the category designers to support Active Footwear Design, Product Development, and Merchandising through Color and Materials. You are energetic, collaborative, have strong communication and are results driven.
What You ll Do:
- Create 2D line arts on Illustrator
- Generate digital material swatches for seasonal material palette
- Create color CAD that are seasonally appropriate for the Active Footwear each season
- Conduct in-depth research on consumer trends and insights to drive new and innovative design solutions to product
- Responsible for seasonal CAD boards and presentations
- Responsible for material trials and applying hardware/graphics/treatments on base patterns.
- Responsible for material/color labeling for PD handoff.
- Researches global consumer trends, insights competitors, for the Michael Kors market segment
- Research/recognize current and emerging trends
- Develop strong knowledge of the Michael Kors customer
You ll Need to Have:
- Four-year college or university degree in industrial, graphic, apparel or footwear design
- 2-3 years practical experience in footwear design, graphic design, or any design relevant environment
- Thorough knowledge of art and design with clear understanding of visual design or any design related environment
- Must be knowledgeable about footwear materials and finishes
- High level of creativity and curiosity with an elevated taste level
- Meet development timelines and calendar deadlines per seasonal milestone
- Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop
