About the Position: The Joint Munitions Command provides the Joint Force with ready, reliable, lethal munitions at the speed of war. JMC's mission is to support the production, storage, distribution, and demilitarization of munitions. This position serves as an Command Inspector General. Responsibilities Reviews and acts on complaints that are extremely sensitive and which can create wide exposure and a high degree of interest. Identify, accumulate, analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources to identify and determine the validity of allegations and issues inherent in the investigation/assistance complaints. Works with employees/managers to assist and show them how a procedure or process should be working when an inquiry/inspection reveals it is not being done in an acceptable manner. Provide leadership and oversight of the Joint Munitions Command Headquarters inspection staff, to include influencing leaders across both headquarters and installations. Prepare analysis on complaints processed through Inspector General's office; covering types and trends of complaints for presentation to organizational leaders on a periodic basis. Prepare and deliver executive summaries, information papers and briefings to advise senior leaders on case summaries, recommendations and analysis. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1. Identifying violations of laws, regulations or policies to provide assistance and potentially conduct follow on investigations. 2. Briefing senior management on inspection results. 3. Conducting inspections of organizational activities to improve processes, workforce discipline and morale. 4. Making recommendations to change/influence policies or programs. And 5. Teaching and training staff on proper execution of policies, procedures across the organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Compliance Inspection Information Management Leadership Teaching Others Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited or NOT a permanent appointment.
