Title: Commerce Editor (Parade.com)Employment Type: Full-timeLocation: New York, NYFirst Look: The Arena Group seeks a Commerce Editor (Parade.com) to play a key role in executing our centralized commerce team's content strategy across our portfolio of brands, with a dedicated focus on Parade.com. The ideal candidate is a digital-savvy editor with proven experience in a range of lifestyle/commerce topics, including but not limited to home and garden, consumer electronics, and women's lifestyle. A great cover letter or portfolio of examples would reflect your acumen in these topics, and in particular, the areas where you could shine. Duties will include product news and deal sourcing, assigning and editing new content, updating and optimizing existing content, maintaining an edit calendar, and writing stories as necessary. The ideal candidate is a product enthusiast with an ability to discern compelling deals and communicate their value proposition. Must be willing to work nights and weekends for key shopping tentpole events such as Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This position will report to the Executive Editor, Commerce. This position is based in our New York, NY office with a minimum of three days per week in-office. The Arena Group's expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $85,000 - $100,000 USD. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group's total compensation and benefits available to its employees.   • Assign, write and edit commerce content across our brands, including news and deals posts, evergreen roundups, and single-product reviews that deliver trust-worthy recommendations for our audiences, with a focus on women's lifestyle.
  • Create and oversee the team's editorial calendar, coordinating with brand editors and commerce strategy managers to ensure each story fits the brand's unique voice and style, while still driving revenue
  • Monitor the daily news cycle and promotional events to flag commerce opportunities
  • Edit clear, compelling, voice-y and accurate stories on tight deadlines
  • Use analytics & research tools such as Trackonomics, Google Analytics, Google Trends, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Parsley, etc. to monitor story and topic performance, making data-driven decisions and seeking new opportunities based on current trends
  • Update and optimize existing stories to make sure the content is recent, accurate, and delivering useful service to our readers
  • Develop a roster of writers who can produce high-quality commerce stories across topics
  • Write and build stories in the CMS as needed
What You'll Bring:
  • Required: 3+ years' experience working in a fast-paced digital environment with increasing editing/assigning responsibilities, with 1+ years in the commerce space
  • Proven success driving growth in a range of Women's Lifestyle categories - including but not limited to apparel, accessories, personal care and beauty. A strong understanding of home goods is a plus.
  • Strong angling and formatting skills and excellent judgment as to what drives audience across various digital platforms
  • Strong knowledge of trends and new products, an ability to foster relationships with brands and PR agencies is a plus
  • An understanding of and enthusiasm for identified categories and how to create compelling, conversational and approachable shopping coverage
  • Knowledge of digital content best practices, including SEO, AP Style, and data interpretation
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Collaborative, team-oriented and well-versed in building strong relationships with internal collaborators
  • Ability to write and edit fast, without compromising factual information or brand integrity
  • A sense of fun, urgency, and a can-do attitude
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, preferred
