Job Title: Commercial Carpenters NeededCompany: United Trades of America Location: Macon, MS Position Overview: United Trades of America is seeking experienced commercial carpenters to join our team. We are looking for skilled individuals who can contribute to our commitment to quality and efficiency. Pay Rate: $15 - $25 per hour (based on experience) Responsibilities:
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
- Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
- Build frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters.
- Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a commercial carpenter.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Experience in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
- Good understanding of basic math.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- High school diploma; successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is preferred.
