Commercial Construction Superintendent

One of the leading general contractors in the Charlotte region for industrial, mixed-use, retail, and office projects, S. C. Hondros & Associates Inc. specializes in providing turnkey construction as well as a single point of contact and responsibility from project concept to completion.

Our Superintendent is responsible for all aspects of the construction of the project. He/She is expected to take the initiative necessary to construct the highest quality possible building in the optimum amount of time, per the drawings and specifications. This includes the production and quality workmanship of all personnel and subcontractors involved in the entire project. The work is not complete until the client is satisfied, and the final Certificate of Occupancy is obtained for the project.

General Objective:

To organize and manage a construction project efficiently and economically, producing a quality product within the scheduled time.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the client.
• Obtain and transmit field information to the office, in a timely manner, through the project manager.
• Work with the project manager as a team.
• Construct the project per the drawings and specifications.
• Supervise, schedule, and inspect all work performed by subcontractors.
• Implement construction standards and procedures.
• Purchase and maintain small tools and equipment required for the project.
• Properly use and maintain company-owned equipment.
• Implement the construction safety program.
• Complete clerical work on a daily basis; i.e., time cards, cost code invoices, monitor schedule, process work authorizations and field change orders originating in the field, etc., and submit invoices to the office on a daily basis.
• Conduct business in a manner which will produce a quality product and bring credit to S.C. Hondros & Associates, Inc.
• Work laterally with all other field superintendents.
• Meet with all subcontractors prior to their mobilizing on job site to discuss scope, manpower, and safety.
• Other duties as assigned.
