GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Commercial Loan Servicing Specialist I is responsible for inputting all commercial loan information into the core accounting system, performing ongoing loan maintenance, posting/reversing transactions, and creating payoff quotes. Other responsibilities include ensuring loan integrity by completing file maintenance requests and reviewing daily and monthly reports. Maintains a strong working knowledge of all loan types and specific loan mechanics, and assists customers and coworkers by answering routine/complex questions and solving problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
* Responsible for the input of new and renewal loan information for all types of commercial loans while ensuring accuracy. This entails following procedures, using proper coding, and maintaining regular communication with the loan team. This duty is performed about 40% of the time.
* Reviews HUD-1 settlement statements along with disbursements and approvals to ensure accurate funding of all commercial loans. Verifies and initiates initial commercial funding through wires and other approved channels. This duty is performed about 15% of the time.
* Maintains a strong working knowledge of the loan posting system in order to effectively solve problems and reconcile outstanding items. This duty is performed 5% of the time.
* Provides payoff quotes to customers and third parties, which may include communicating with other departments to obtain accurate information. This duty is performed 15% of the time.
* Sets up, maintains, and monitors automatic loan payments through the core system. This duty is performed 5% of the time.
* Monitors and reviews assigned daily/monthly reports and provides secondary review for key loan fields on all commercial loan types. This duty is performed 20% of the time.
* Maintains regular and reliable attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. Reads, writes, and communicates in a clear and efficient manner via various types of correspondence, such as, in person, phone, email, letters, etc. Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations, and laws (including BSA/AML).
* Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* High school diploma or GED
* At least 2 years of related experience or training
* Strong understanding of all commercial loan types and loan documentation
* Regular use of desktop/laptop computer and basic operating systems
* Intermediate experience with alphanumeric data entry, PowerPoint, Excel, and word processing
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
