Overview In this role, responsibilities will include supporting the lending activities of the Member Business Loan department by providing insightful and timely credit analysis of prospective and current borrowers. Responsibilities
- Perform an in-depth underwriting analysis of each borrower's character, credit worthiness, and financial condition.
- Provide analytical support to commercial lending group.
- Analyze financial statements and related material to prepare written credit analysis of individual and corporate borrowers.
- Prepare approval memorandums for presentation to appropriate lending authorities.
- Conduct and present industry research.
- Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, and agencies.
- Perform specific analysis on current loan portfolio.
- Assist with committee and Board of Director reporting.
- Develop credit information in lending decisions on new loans, renewals, and extensions.
- Prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.
- Ensure that all credit files are organized and include current information.
- Analyze commercial property financial information to determine actual income, expenses, and projected debt service.
- Review credit reports, appraisals, environmental reports, title reports, and other documents for collateral property.
- Document approval actions.
- Perform interim and annual reviews of individual loans to determine the appropriate risk grading.
- Contribute to organizational projects and improvement initiatives.
- Provide input and suggestions relating to commercial workout and restructure situations.
- Administer a performance review to ensure compliance to policy.
- Lead credit workflow initiatives within the Loan Operating System.
- Work closely with commercial lending operations and processing teams to ensure timely completion of specific credit administration duties.
- Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union's policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in the areas of Finance, Accounting, or related major required.
- Three of more years' experience working with commercial or business lending portfolios preferred.
- Math aptitude and analytical skills required.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles required.
- Knowledge of SBA guidelines, processes, and regulations governing servicing actions preferred.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong ability to effectively discuss complex loan related matters.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to work on multiple projects/loans simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
- Demonstrated proficiency and capability in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information.
- Strong understanding of workout and restructure regulatory guidance.
- Strong understanding of accounting guidance and pronouncements related to loan origination and administration.
