Job Description:
Overview The Commercial Asset Services (CAS) Maintenance Technician is responsible for all phases of general repair maintenance and the physical condition of the property. The CAS Maintenance Technician may also be responsible for preventative maintenance programs to ensure that the property is maintained in good physical condition. The ideal candidate would possess problem solving skills and take the initiative to find the source of an issue and attempt to resolve it. The candidate is motivated, a self-starter and skilled. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager. Location: Northwest Indiana (Crown Point, Gary, LaPorte, Merrillville, Valparaiso). This position requires daily travel. A company vehicle is provided! Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM CST. On-call rotation required. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC tasks.
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner to reflect the highest integrity of the maintenance department and company.
  • Performs property maintenance for the exterior and interior property maintenance.
  • Follows all company emergency policies.
  • Ability to work within the established work schedule and at other times as needed.
  • Ability to work on their own with only nominal supervision.
  • Knowledgeable and observant of safety precautions and policy/procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and be able to identify needs to promote a safe environment needed to protect the property and its tenants.
  • Ability to collaborate well with third party vendors and property tenants.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and auto insurance
  • Able to pass a background check and driving record check
  • Minimum of 2 years commercial maintenance experience
  • Self-starter with the ability to work closely with team members as needed
  • Experience in dealing with various trades and sub-contractors
  • Must be able to travel (drive a company vehicle) to all local company-owned properties regularly
