This pivotal role focuses on driving sales growth, building strong client relationships, and positioning the company as a leader in the commercial roofing industry.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in successfully selling commercial roofing service agreements and/or restoration coating systems.
- Strong analytical skills to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Excellent written communication skills for preparing effective reports, proposals, and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries from employees, managers, and clients.
- Experience working with a diverse client/customer base.
- Willingness to attend job walks and prepare take-offs by measuring and noting all variables of the roof site, potentially requiring multiple site visits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Familiarity with office administrative procedures and standard office equipment.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable estimating experience specific to commercial roofing, preferably with a focus on service and/or coating restoration work.
- Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software.
- Skills will be assessed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze roofs, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare material quotes, labor requirement quotes, project pricing, and bid abstracts.
- Prepare detailed itemized lists and summaries for project bids.
- Understand manufacturer product warranties thoroughly.
- Maintain positive relationships with property and facilities managers, general contractors, and manufacturer representatives.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, including planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, and selecting vendors/subcontractors.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Management in bid preparation and evaluation.
- Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database to support accurate cost estimating with historical data.
- Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement.
- Estimate prices for change orders on existing contracts.
- Attend pre-construction and bid/pre-qualification meetings.
