Yorktel is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer who will be responsible to develop, implement, coordinate, perform and document all essential Quality Control (QC) measures and protocols including workmanship inspection and evaluation; pre-installation set-up and testing; post-installation calibration and commissioning; technical support for the installation team as well as Integration Manager; and providing training to the field resources on various AV equipment capabilities and usage.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Ensure systems are built, connected, and tested to engineering drawings and Yorktel standards for fabrication.
* Provide complete and thorough testing and quality assurance of all available devices and codes in the time allotted.
* Properly and efficiently calibrate, test, configure and troubleshoot audiovisual, video conferencing, broadcast, and digital media systems and components.
* Perform post-installation testing, calibration, commissioning, and certification of installed and integrated systems.
* Maintain complete and accurate project records including Field Revision and Record Drawings (Red-line and Record Issue), Status and Action Item reports and all required Project Close-Out Documentation.
* Monitor field installation work and offer guidance as to the best way to perform certain tasks such as terminating, dressing cables, system calibration and troubleshooting.
* Official customer training and sign off on all required systems.
* Be available to support the field installation team with any technical questions they may have during the installation phase of a project
* Support VNOC calls which are escalated beyond their level of expertise.
* Oversee and document certification of all shipped and installed AV systems post install using an established base system located in Wilmington to test audio and video calls against.
* Interface with Application Engineers and/or Control Programmers to discuss system functionality and future enhancements.
* Will be dispatched to perform system commissioning and training on all required systems.
* Assist with development of closeout documentation and quick user guides, based on Button-by-Button guides developed by the Control System Programming Team.
* Assist with creation of Yorktel White Papers.
* Provide status to Project Manager on installation
* Provide mentoring and leadership to junior employees through quality workmanship and exceptional attention to detail.
* Provide leadership to multiple personnel throughout large scale fabrication efforts.
* Working knowledge of York Telecom policies and procedures.
* All other duties assigned.
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities:
* This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however, will be a thought leader and subject matter expert in many disciplines within the integrated systems field.
Skills & Abilities:
* Be capable of fully understanding design intent and operational objectives, working efficiently and effectively using a variety of engineering drawings, diagrams, and architectural blueprints. This shall include the ability to work effectively using both detailed, comprehensive schematic drawings and simplified diagrams containing limited and general information.
* Proficient in the proper use of required test equipment including but not limited to: Sound Pressure Level (SPL) Meter; Real Time Analyzer (RTA); Waveform and Vector Scope; Video Test Generator (VTG); ISDN and Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope; and RF Signal Meter.
* Ability to read and understand flow diagrams.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions.
* Ability to work with others or independently, while maintaining a professional manner within a stressful and fast paced environment

Education & Experience:
* Polycom/Tandberg/Cisco certified Video conference Engineer (TCE/CVE/etc) certification desirable
* Familiarity with major formats of Audio DSP (BiAmp Tesira, QSC QSys, others). Training certifications desirable
* Crestron / Extron / AMX / other programming knowledge with more than 5 years' experience within the Audio Video space
* AVIXA CTS certification with Advanced CTS-D certification desirable
* Proficiency in video/audio/control network infrastructure in support of commissioning and other technical processes
* Willingness to pursue and attend additional training related to performance of job.
* Proficient in the use of computers and MS Suite (Outlook, Project, Excel, and Word)
* Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD or Visio, or other diagrammatic software tools
* Proficiency in video network infrastructure commissioning and support processes
* Knowledge of video and audio-conferencing service standards
* Knowledge of audiovisual, videoconferencing and IT products and applications
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended durations of night / second shift work.
* May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
* Requires extensive sitting, standing, and walking
* Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
* Valid passport; International travel possible
* Valid U.S. driver's license
* Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests as required by current or future contracts
* Must be willing to apply for security clearances, suitability, and other related clearances to be able to work at certain customer locations.
