Job SummaryThe Communications and Content Specialist is responsible for performing external and internal communications functions that support the Dakota Credit Union Association's strategies. Primary duties are to maintain brand consistency while providing information and resources to member credit unions through writing, editing, content creation, public relations, and social media efforts as well as maintaining a biweekly electronic newsletter.
Job FunctionsThe Communications and Content Specialist guides the association's overall public communications and media relations, which encompasses public relations, public affairs and communications initiatives as well political/regulatory advocacy support. The Communications and Content Specialist is responsible for writing and overseeing the distribution of internal and external communications. This includes member communication, news releases, opinion editorials, and more. They will maintain regular contact with affiliated credit unions to identify stories of interest for both external and internal promotion. They will be tasked with providing coverage and support at DakCU events, for the Dakota Credit Union Foundation, for the Dakota Service Corporation, assist with writing for DakCU educational programs and others as well as maintaining relations with national and local credit union communication/media contacts. Duties also will include oversight and origination of the association's biweekly electronic newsletter, association website content, Dakota chapter events, and all social media platforms. They will provide input and support efforts to showcase and market the value of DakCU to affiliated Dakota credit unions' members and potential members.
