Communications and Outreach Coordinator

The Bill Munday School of Business

St. Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, position as a Communications and Outreach Coordinator in The Bill Munday School of Business, beginning October or November of 2024. The Bill Munday School of Business is a vibrant, inclusive hub for business thought leadership, with an academic foundation built on the five pillars of the dynamic Austin ecosystem: entrepreneurial thinking, social enterprise, innovation management, analytics, and global collaboration. From market-driven, AACSB-accredited academic programs to cutting-edge research, our diverse students and faculty leverage Austin -- and the world beyond -- as our laboratory for exploration and learning.

Reporting to the dean, the Communications and Outreach Coordinator will develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to build brand, increase engagement, and communicate our value proposition to internal and external stakeholders while also providing professional coordination of events and initiatives hosted by The Bill Munday School of Business.

Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Social Media Management, Graphic Design, or related field(s).

* At least two years of relevant professional experience.

* Demonstrated professional experience in social media management and analytics.

* Exceptional oral and written communication, organization, time management, and interpersonal skills.

* Strong attention to detail and deadlines.

* Collegial, enthusiastic, and proactive working style.

* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, employers, alumni, and donors.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

* Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends with advance notice.

* Successful completion of an employment and/or criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

* At least four years of relevant professional experience.

* Experience working in higher education.

* Experience with Google Suite, Google Analytics, Zoom, Power Point, Canva, Canvas, email marketing software (e.g., Emma), Adobe, Drupal, Qualtrics, Box, 25Live, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, Hootsuite, and/or video creation.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

* Develop and execute cohesive social media and communications strategy to build MSB brand, increase external and internal engagement, support undergraduate and graduate recruitment, and communicate our value proposition to prospective students, alumni, donors, and partners. Specific priorities include:

* Build professional, engaging, and analytics-driven content on MSB's LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok platforms to help promote academic programs, events, student success stories, alumni engagement, and faculty research.

* Collaborate with MSB faculty and staff and University Marketing to create editorial stories of interest - regarding faculty research, grant and fellowship activity, student/alumni success, or innovative programs - in advancement of MSB and University goals.

* Develop and maintain MSB website content consistent with University best practices and brand guidelines while ensuring MSB webpages are easily accessible, updated, mobile-friendly, and market-driven.

* Design, draft, distribute, and elevate MSB's internal and external newsletters to be more interactive and impactful.

* Innovate and maintain dynamic content for digital signage system in Trustee Hall.

* Create and maintain digital library of MSB photographs, videos, graphic designs, and program collateral.

* Maintain MSB database of alumni and community contacts.

* Lead MSB's coordination and execution of events including but not limited to Welcome Day, Student Involvement Day, Meet the Firms, iChallenge, Fireside Chat, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Alumni Weekend, Explore/Choose SEU Days, Career Fairs, Career Edge workshops, Career Spotlight Days, and honor society inductions.

* Support dean in developing and promoting strong external partnerships in Austin business community.

* Support dean in fundraising efforts, including alumni giving campaigns.

* Facilitate Advisory Board meeting logistics.

* Manage MSB Student Portal, a Canvas hub for all business students to easily access events and information.

* Design, purchase, and exercise inventory control of MSB branded event items and gifts.

* Design presentation materials for MSB school meetings and other events at the request of the dean.

* Coordinate design of annual reports and other print materials (flyers, brochures, etc.) at the request of the dean.

* Provide digital photography and graphic design capabilities to support MSB communications and events as needed.

* Support student organization faculty advisors and department chairs in executing discipline-specific events.

* Collaborate with MSB Graduate Programs Coordinator on events and communication.

* Supervise Marketing and Events student intern to ensure robust and mutually beneficial student learning experience.

* Pursue relevant professional development programming to upskill and facilitate innovation and continuous improvement in communications strategy.

* Evaluate MSB marketing, communication, and event efficacy based on objective metrics and develop plans for continuous improvement.

* Other duties as assigned.
