About the Role: The Communications & PR Intern will work under the Director of Corporate Communications & PR and gain experience in internal and external communications . This role is focused on employee engagement messaging and content creation for social media and the company website . The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, independent thinker with a passion for crafting impactful messaging that connects with employees , potential hires , and clients .
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
+ Content Creation: Collect, edit, and publish employee-focused content on the company Intranet (SharePoint), including videos, photo galleries, and written content.
+ Event Planning: Assist with planning communications for company events and provide event day coordination as needed.
+ Interviews & Articles: Conduct interviews with stakeholders at all levels (including C-Suite) for Intranet and newsletter content.
+ Newsletter Production: Help plan and create the monthly internal newsletter.
+ Social Media Management: Support company social media by creating posts, graphics, and managing updates across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platforms.
+ Media Relations: Aid in award submissions and media relations efforts to promote RailPros' brand.
+ Analytics & Reporting: Run reports on social media, website, and PR efforts to measure success.
+ Content Scheduling: Use platforms like AirTable to organize and schedule emails, social media posts, and Intranet content.
+ Corporate Branding: Assist with branding and collateral assignments for internal and external use.
+ Website Content: Participate in content creation and branding updates for the company website.
+ Additional Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
+ Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter).
+ Working toward a college degree (junior level or above) in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, English, or related fields.
+ Previous internship experience in communications/PR is a plus.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Canva, and/or Adobe Suite.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ Basic understanding of PR and internal communications principles.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
+ Familiarity with WordPress, SEO, and HTML is a plus.
+ Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (minimum of 2 days in-office per week, schedule permitting).
Required Education and Experience :
+ Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising, or English (junior level and above).
