The Upper Valley Haven provides temporary shelter, supportive housing, food, and problem solving to those in need in addition to school year and summer programming for children. Come join our team of highly motivated and caring professionals.OverviewReporting to the Director of Development & Communications, the Communications Associate will work closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other staff to set and reach the organization's communications and marketing goals. The Communications Associate is responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to elevate the Haven's brand, engage our audience, and drive meaningful conversations. This individual will function as an additional ambassador for the organization who can attend functions and act as a spokesperson managing community relationships that are mission focused.You will promote our organization, increasing constituent engagement, helping our community to grow stronger as we provide basic needs for food, shelter, housing, and other resources for those facing significant daily challenges. Responsibilities
  • Drive consistent brand management throughout all print, electronic, internal and external communications and messaging.
  • Execute multi-channel social media activities, assesses performance, and provides effective monitoring.
  • Regularly update social media reach to target audiences.
  • Develop, edit, and share engaging, consistent content (e.g., original text, photos, original video content) that adheres to the Haven's brand guidelines.
  • Create and distribute the monthly Haven e-newsletter (audience 10,000+/-).
  • Contribute content for printed fundraising appeals throughout the year.
  • Maintain the Haven's website through WordPress, updating and refreshing content weekly.
  • Use video and photography as part of the frequent storytelling about the Haven's work.
  • Stay up to date with digital media developments.
  • Stay up to date with events that are related to the Haven's work.
  • Manage special events and other gatherings of people with the goal of connecting the value of the Haven's services to the community.
  • Coordinate the Haven's team for the annual Covered Bridges Half Marathon including attendance, set-up, and building a positive experience for the participating runners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent professional and work experience.
  • Experience in digital marketing preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Can work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Knowledge of WordPress.
  • Experience with Google analytics a plus.
  • Broad understanding of issues around poverty.
