Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Associate will support all efforts of Collegiate's communications team and be a key member of the Development & Alumni Relations office. This individual will be responsible for the design and creation of materials supporting the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications plan for Collegiate. In addition, the Communications Associate will be responsible for a wide-variety of creative content development for the School, including but not limited to graphic design work, executing social media campaigns, school-wide photography and video production, photo management, assisting with written content, and website production. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop graphic designs for digital and print materials, including but not limited to flyers, brochures, emails, social media, email templates, postcards and mailings, for the Development office and other offices at Collegiate School. Proactively collect stories, photographs, and videos for potential use on social media, the Collegiate website, or in marketing materials. Draft written content for social media posts, marketing materials, newsletter, and website content. Assist in crafting, developing, and implementing social media campaigns that meet the marketing needs for student recruitment and parent and alumni engagement. Serve as the primary on-site, day-to-day photographer/videographer for school events; edit, organize, and customize photography and video for social media, website, and in-house materials usage. Produce long and short form video for use in social media campaigns, on our website, and for marketing materials. Contribute to the development and production of content ideas for the organization's editorial calendar. Repurpose existing content for social media and marketing campaigns. Help to draft, edit, and send emails. Update and maintain content on the Collegiate website, including updating existing pages and creating new pages which include text, images, calendars, and directories, annually and as needed. Produce and maintain analytics reports that illustrate the impact of communications on the organization's success. Stay up to date on industry trends in communications, marketing, and social media use and make proactive recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies. Attend and support occasional evening or weekend events. Fulfill other responsibilities and special projects as assigned. Qualifications, Skills, Experience, and Competencies: Bachelor's degree required. Degree in graphic design, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred. One to two years prior experience. Experience in a non-profit or educational setting preferred. Fluency working with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Illustrator, Acrobat, Lightroom). Experience with Finalsite, Canva, and other content management/creation technology is a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Slides), Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn and a general comfort with technology preferred. Novice to intermediate digital photography/videography skills required, advanced skills beneficial. Strong written and oral communication skills, with an ability to adapt content to different audiences. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and creative thinking. Experience managing social media channels for an organization preferred. Ability to exercise discretion and good judgment in handling confidential information. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and independently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment is essential. A proven ability to prioritize work and meeting deadlines while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a positive attitude.
