Job description

Waters Edge has a full-time opening for a Communications Coordinator. Our team is looking for a driven professional who enjoys their work, has a healthy interest in learning, and a strong ability to communicate a message holistically. The Communications Coordinator will champion both internal and external messaging and will play a critical role in consistently representing the Waters Edge brand across multiple platforms.

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for written, printed, digital, and in-person methods and strategies. The primary responsibilities of this position are to prepare proposal materials needed for RFP/RFQ responses, coordinate tradeshow and conference logistics, create written content and submissions, and develop/execute communication methods for targeted lists. This position will also collaborate with personnel on business development and marketing initiatives, along with developing and producing high quality communication collateral.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manage firm information related to communication needs and efforts
  • Develop and maintain proactive communication plan
  • Monitor, coordinate, and respond to Request for Proposals (RFP's) and Qualifications (RFQ's), including reading and analyzing documents, coordination of subconsultant materials, and developing a concise and consistent delivery while meeting requirements
  • Coordinate conference and tradeshow logistics and materials
  • Create material and collateral for industry awards, newsletters, website, social media, research reports, submissions, and other needs
  • Create and update materials, such as for presentations, proposals, reports, resumes, project write-ups, interviews, mailings, tradeshows, online and printed materials
  • Assist with creating materials for interviews and meetings, along with crafting an effective message
  • Assist with maintaining and managing the marketing budget
  • Read, proof, and edit written documents
  • Assist in identifying target markets and send business materials to generate awareness of our services
  • Coordinate photo/video shoots for indoor and outdoor projects, including operating a drone
  • Develop and manage social media content
  • Manage and update website as needed

Qualifications & Experience

An ideal candidate would have two to three years' experience coordinating communication strategies, an associate's degree or higher in marketing , communications, journalism, public relations, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in the fields of engineering, architecture, and/or design is preferred.

Required skills and abilities include:

  • Knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices
  • Manage messaging and communication systems across multiple platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, skilled writer, editor, and proofreader
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience with graphic design projects and development of graphically oriented collateral using InDesign
  • Positive attitude with a creative mindset to think outside the box
  • Self-starter with critical thinking skills and close attention to detail
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision, multi-task, and prioritize

Preferred skills and abilities include:

  • Photography, videography, and photo editing
  • Drone photography
  • Experience with online public survey platforms (Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, etc.)
  • Knowledge of social media requirements and experience with developing social media strategy
  • Brand management experience with ability to write and use consistent brand voice
  • Basic WordPress experience

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/year. Pay commensurate with experience.
