Job Description
Communications Specialist and Graduate Advisor
Program Specialist (Level III or IV) - Evergreen Posting
The Communications Specialist (40%) role involves crafting and editing compelling articles that spotlight student achievements, faculty research, alumni successes, and departmental updates. The individual will develop and execute strategies to enhance the department's visibility through various platforms, including newsletters and social media, and ensure all content is accurate and engaging.
The Graduate Advisor role (35%) is to provide academic and professional guidance to graduate students. This individual will serve as a liaison between students and faculty. The advisor will also organize orientation sessions and workshops to support student progress and development.
The position also includes other responsibilities (25%) overseeing student welfare by addressing academic and personal concerns, coordinating with campus resources and developing initiatives to promote student well-being. Furthermore, the individual will be responsible for proofreading and editing important departmental documents, ensuring they meet institutional standards for accuracy and professionalism.
Qualifications*
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist III:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Three years of related experience
Minimum qualifications for Program Specialist IV:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Six years of related experience
* Compensation and classification is based on the analyses of the above qualifications during the recruitment process.

* Strong organizational and communication skills are essential
