Responsibilities
* Plan and formulate policies, programs, and procedures governing information dissemination within DOL.
* Edit and revise material prior to publication and determine the readiness of written material for public release and obtain appropriate DOL approvals.
* Create and share original designs and templates for internal communications products, including, but not limited to: event posters, campaign flyers, newsletters, infographics, and PowerPoint presentations.
* Drafts and manages communication strategies from conception through delivery, evaluation and assessment.
* Provide overall coordination of policy papers, talking points and other major means of advancing the DOL agenda.
* Examine reports, documents, correspondence, memoranda, and other material submitted by members of the office for completeness and conformity to DOL internal and external standards.
* Update the office website or other information or platforms as needed.
* Manage social media content and platforms such as Instagram, Facebook,?YouTube, and LinkedIn.
* Drafts a range of communications materials for various audiences and purposes, often on short deadlines.
* Works cooperatively and collaboratively across Agency bureaus and missions to produce, track, and/or distribute communications products.
Qualifications
* A master's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field;
* A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience;
* Demonstrated experience in communicating complex information to audiences of various technical capacity, including dissemination via digital media platforms, preferably related to website design;
* Experience with social media outreach, campaigns and engagement, community of practice development maintenance, blogs, newsletters, and other forms of modern communication;
* Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to meet a common communication goal;
* Experience developing and overseeing creative, client-focused marketing or communications strategies with proven clientele in the field of social and/or labor policy;
* Experience planning, executing and coordinating marketing or related communications efforts;
* Experience conducting market research and related activities such as systematic collection and interpretation of information using analytical methods and techniques to: understand evaluation customer needs; understand various evidence-based policymaking or program environments; and support decision-making about communication strategies.
