The City of Pharr in Pharr, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Communications Training Coordinator to directly perform highly responsible functions in the planning, development, organizing, and delivery of public safety communications training to include 9-1-1, public safety radio, TCOLE programs, and DPS programs. You will serve as the Pharr Public Safety Communications official TCOLE training Coordinator. You will also work closely with the front-line supervisors to maintain continued education to the 911 Center's Telecommunications Officers and ensure that all agency requirements of TCOLE rules and CALEA standards are met. Your job is essential to the city and the city needs someone like you to perform these duties.Qualifications for a Communications Training Coordinator
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of a valid, appropriate Texas (Class C) driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • Requires a TCOLE basic Instructor Certification or higher
  • Must be eligible to obtain the DPS associate trainer certification
  • Certifications in Fire, EMS, and/or Law Enforcement are preferred, but not required
  • Professional licenses and certifications relevant to public safety communications and credentials will be considered in the overall evaluation of candidates
  • Possess or be eligible to obtain TCIC/NCIS Full Access Certification
  • Position requires 5 years of progressive public safety experience in law enforcement, fire, EMS, or emergency management
  • Ability to obtain CPR Instructor certification and additional certifications for instructing as needed
