Whether it's finding a job, making a contribution in a volunteer role, establishing a home, or being part of the community, the goal is to assist the person to lead a full and active life.Job Path is seeking an organized, outgoing Community and Group Specialist in its Community Connections department to assist in scheduling, organizing, and creating daytime habilitation programming for Job Path's groups, as well as creating new groups based on the interests of the people we support. The ideal candidate will be proactive and actively engaged in their community. The Community and Group Specialist will be responsible for actively seeking locations outside of Job Path's office to hold groups, volunteer partnerships, and learning opportunities for the people we support. Reports to: Senior Director of Community ConnectionsResponsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:Supervise group facilitators
  • Hold group group facilitator supervision session, providing guidance and direction for topics as needed, and ensuring that the groups material needs are met
  • Maintaining the schedule for the group, ensuring the facilitator will be there or providing coverage
  • Ensure sure that case notes from the group are submitted.
  • Manage group conflicts
  • Evaluate current groups, and determine if any additional groups are needed
Community Development
  • Find community-based activities for people who receive support from the Job Path's Community Connections program, such as volunteer work, classes, or meet-up groups, based on individuals' areas of interest. This work will be done in collaboration with Coordinators and the Director of Community Connections
  • Updating Padlet with community-based activities and connecting staff to the board to share/access resources
  • Connect and complete outreach for community partnerships and spaces to host groups, events, and volunteer opportunities for individuals
Staffing Support
  • Arrange and complete support and training in the community for new and ongoing staff based on program needs.
  • Assist the DSP hiring team on an as-needed basis, this may include screening, interviewing, and attending recruitment events
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of education or human services, OR
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 months of work experience serving people with developmental disabilities in a community-based setting.

Salary: $43,500 annual salary, non-exempt Benefits:
