Position: Community Child Care Director Overview: The Hastings Area School System seeks a dedicated and knowledgeable Community Child Care Director to lead our childcare facility. This role is essential in supporting a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children within our community. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all regulations and standards set forth by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of child care licensing. Details: Full time, 40 hours a week
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the childcare facility, ensuring a safe, structured, and engaging environment for children.
- Maintain full compliance with all LARA requirements and child care licensing standards.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate programs that promote growth in physical, social, and cognitive areas.
- Manage and support childcare staff, including training, scheduling, and ongoing professional development.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, ensuring strong communication regarding children's needs and progress.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation as required by state and local regulations.
- Collaborate with Hastings Area School System leadership to align the child care program with district goals and standards.
Qualifications: - Must meet all qualifications and requirements as outlined by LARA for a Child Care Director. A minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit with 12 semesters in child development, child psychology, or early childhood education or CDA or similar credential for early childhood.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child care licensing regulations in Michigan.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff management and child care program administration.
