For many Living Resources employees, their work becomes an experience where they find fulfillment and develop both personally and professionally.The Community Coordinator will assist each student in achieving maximum campus and community involvement, and socialization. The Community Coordinator will be based out of the main office at 300 WAE, the Russell Sage College Albany campus, the Russell Sage College Troy campus on occasion, and various community locations. The Community Coordinator will develop new opportunities for students to explore when the need arises, assess student interests, update the calendar of events, coordinate with Russell Sage College campus life, and teach Community Involvement and Community Navigation classes, along with other life skill courses. The Community Coordinator will implement socialization activities and will complete a summary of students' involvement in the community during their time at the program. Assist students in establishing concrete community involvement goals at the start of each semester, follow up on all goals and assist in connecting with campus and community partners as needed, track progress weekly. Meet with the Academic Coordinator and Director of College Programs on a regular basis a monthly report on individual student progress toward their goals, and addressing any obstacles. Attend coordinators and staff meetings to update other team members as well. Be the point person for parent contact for any questions regarding student socialization and involvement on campus and with peers. Coordinate a monthly Saturday bus trip and attend to support the students on the trip. Develop and implement socialization activities for students and provide a physical presence of support for activities as needed and coordinate with other staff as needed. Coordinate with Residential Managers that proper staffing is in place for weeknight, weekend, and orientation activities held in the dorms. Work a split shift the first week the students are at the program, 12pm-8pm, working in the dorms after the daytime orientation to implement the socialization activities. Work the first two Saturdays the students are at the program, personally implement the community involvement activities and events. Maintain a close relationship with Russell Sage College campus life and local organizations to further partnerships and involvement opportunities. Assist students in reaching out to the college and organizations based on their interests. Teach Community Involvement classes that introduce students to various campus and community opportunities, teach social norms, assist students in accessing activities and events, help students with executive functioning skills surrounding this, such as planning and prioritizing, and aid students in adding these events to their personal schedule. Complete Day Habilitation documentation contemporaneously and accurately. Maintain regular communication with the Academic Coordinator, keeping them apprised of any issues or concerns that may arise. Ensure that students are safe and individual rights are being met. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related field and One year of experience working with people with disabilitiesValid NYS driver's license
