Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to assist in the coordination of providing human services to residents within a specific geographic area of the City including but not limited to social services, job training, housing assistance, literacy and educational services, child care services, etc. This is accomplished by linking clients with the various service providers in the York community with specific needs, cultivating relationships with residents in the City, fostering great relationships with the social service community, and maintaining communication with Administration to remain responsive to the vision of the Office of Mayor initiative.
Essential Functions
Coordinates the delivery of human services by coordinating with the various social service agencies throughout the City to help them deliver their services locally. Identify residents within the targeted geographic that need assistance linking with resources. Maintain positive relationships with partner agencies that have material resources and provide needed services. Consistently report to municipality findings of fact that have a negative impact on City resident's quality of life.
Planning and research by actively participate as a primary source in the corresponding research being conducted on each service area. Assist with gathering of the requisite data needed to analyze the designated area of focus. Share candid observations on the benchmarks being measured to demote progress or regress of desired outcomes. Maintain a daily log during tenure as the project coordinator for each individual geographic area.Administrative functions such as typing various correspondences, memorandums, letters and Thank you cards. Answering the telephone, copying, faxing, maintaining the filing system, organizing/scheduling meetings, ordering supplies. Maintaining communications with outside agencies and providing support to City residents.

Minimum Acceptable Training and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Class C Operators license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
All persons who become employed by the City on or after the effective date of this section (May 18, 2022) shall be or become residents of York County, or any County contiguous to York County (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Hartford, Baltimore, and Carroll Counties), within six months from the first date the employee achieves permanent employment status.
Must pass a background check, Drug Test and the PA Child Abuse History Clearance check.
