Job SummaryAssists in the support, conceptualization, development, facilitation, and implementation of projects related to the system's commitment to community engagement, Community Benefit requirements, community and population health, and being a valued partner in those communities that we serve. Job Responsibilities
- Maintains working knowledge of community priority health areas and social determinants of health.
- Assists in securing, research and reporting of economic and health impact data for counties in Owensboro Health regional service area.
- Seeks and maintains resource information for counties served by assigned hospitals and adjacent counties.
- Attends key local and regional meetings and events with stakeholder groups and non-profit partners in Owensboro Health regional service area as directed.
- Manages Community Benefit Tracker reporting at the individual assigned hospital and supports system level reporting. This includes but is not limited to training team members, providing support and technical assistance, providing reports to Owensboro Health Accounting department and preparing the individual assigned hospital's relevant sections of IRS form 990 Schedule H.
- Provides assistance when called upon to all OH hospitals to meet required community benefit requirement.
- Manages the individual assigned hospital's development of the Community Health Needs Assessment and Implementation strategy.
- Assists with the development and tracking of system strategic imperatives.
- Manages the Owensboro Health Community Health grant investments mini grant program at assigned individual hospital level and provides support for the large community health grant investments program.
- Working with the Marketing department, oversees the development of public relations strategy for the Owensboro Health Community Health Investments grant program announcements, partner communication and supports Marketing initiatives when and as appropriate.
- Develops and manages the online Community Requests Portal specific to assigned hospital-specific requests and system requests where appropriate.
- Assists in conducting special events and educating target audiences.
- Supports community engagement efforts that assist in aligning internal and external stakeholders to Owensboro Health's mission to improve the health of the communities we serve. This includes work supporting internal departments, service lines, OHMG, the Owensboro Health Foundation and external community, local, state and national organizations and entities.
- Maintains department specific documents on the system website.
- Assists in the development, planning and management of special projects as assigned.
- Assists in budget preparation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience required
- No licensure/certification/registration required
