UW Tacoma's Office of Community Partnerships (OCP) has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time Community Engagement Data Manager to join their team.

The Office of Community Partnerships (OCP) is involved in systematic data collection and overall assessment of our community partnerships. The UW Tacoma Community Engagement Data Manager will be the lead technical personnel involved in managing the new and existing data systems and will engage directly with users, generate buy-in, and manage data intake for community-engaged courses, track co-curricular engagement, and facilitate engaged scholarship and partnership opportunities. Additionally, the position requires extensive collaboration with a dynamic team across UW's Bothell, Tacoma, and Seattle campuses, working closely with campus leaders and stakeholders to support and advance the project. This position is central to maintaining UW Tacoma's existing community engagement data platform, Collaboratory, while also leading the planning and implementation of a new tri-campus community engagement management system. This new system will enhance our ability to manage, collect, track, analyze, and report on community engagement activities and impact data, including community-engaged courses, community partnerships, student civic engagement, and institution-wide management of related activities. The role emphasizes inclusive and equity-focused approaches to support and strengthen partnerships across all three UW campuses. By improving the infrastructure for tracking and managing curricular and co-curricular community-engaged learning, engaged research, and other activities, this position contributes to a broader effort to advance community engagement in an equitable and collaborative manner.

The position is part-time, .8 FTE (32 hours per week) and reports to the Assistant Chancellor for Community Partnerships in the UW Tacoma Office of Community Partnerships. Work will be directed by the Administrator of the Office of Community Partnerships, with regular support and collaboration with the Technical Project Manager leading the tri-campus rollout of the community engagement management system.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community Engagement Data Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Data platform system implementation, adoption and management:

* Function as a strategic leader in working with key stakeholders to successfully manage the implementation on the Tacoma campus of a new tri-campus community engagement management system (GivePulse).

* Work with key stakeholders to manage a new tri-campus community engagement management system, GivePulse. This includes integrating of data from other existing data platforms currently in use across the Tacoma campus for tracking different aspects of community engagement (e.g., Collaboratory, Tandem, Handshake).

* Maintain Collaboratory, UW Tacoma's existing community engagement database, and manage regular uploading of its relevant community engagement data into the tri-campus platform.

* Using API, manage the handshake of data transfer between UW Tacoma community engagement data platform for data migration (inbound/outbound), dashboards, and live feed visualizations.

* In collaboration with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager, UW Bothell and Seattle counterparts, advise on systems integrations, data validations, and/or work-around processes for UW Tacoma users.

* In collaboration with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager, align the GivePulse specifications, including key responsibilities, processes, and data deliverables specifically for community-engaged courses and other community engagement activities for Tacoma Campus users and stakeholders.

* Identify and incorporate new GivePulse functionality and enhancements and provide status updates for tasks and feature enhancements to the tri-campus Technical Project Manager

* Other data-oriented tasks, as required.

Communications and engagement:

* Serve as the primary UW Tacoma contact on adopting and managing the Collaboratory and GivePulse data platforms (and effectively communicating the need for both) for community engagement, collaborating with the tri-campus Technical Project Manager and internal and external stakeholders.

* Engage internal and external stakeholders, listening to their experience and incorporating their feedback into the efficacy of utilizing the data platforms.

* Develop and provide clear and effective training, documentation, resources, and support for UW Tacoma and community partners to utilize the Collaboratory and GivePulse data platforms.

* Engage potential campus partners in utilizing the Collaboratory and GivePulse data platforms to support their community engagement tracking and management activities.

* Assist with report writing, PowerPoint slide development, public presentations, and information dissemination, as needed.

Data analysis, visualization and assessment:

* Work with key stakeholders to identify data analysis, visualization and assessment needs and goals.

* Be the central point of contact for data management and interface development between UW Tacoma's Information Technology, Office of Community Partnerships, and community partners.

* Utilize statistical analysis packages and various software to support community engagement data analytics, visualizations, and assessment.

* Support stakeholders in developing and implementing analysis and assessment. processes through leveraging the functions of the Collaboratory and GivePulse data platforms.

* Produce reports and visuals documenting data analysis and assessment efforts as requested.

* Help build and maintain online data capture and assessment tools for OCP; including, but not limited to: technical specifications, designs, development, implementation, and maintenance.

* Assist with the development and implementation of an annual assessment of engagement of activities.

* Other assessment and programmatic support, as required.

Other contributions to tri-campus and UW Tacoma initiatives:

* Participate in internal team meetings and working groups, as assigned.

* Participate in the tri-campus community engagement capacity building initiative via meetings and communities of practice, as needed.

* Remain active in the Collaboratory and GivePulse communities, including participating in webinars, trainings, and other professional development opportunities.

* Assist, as needed, with other community engagement initiatives and institutional projects and activities, such as the Carnegie Foundation's Classification for Community Engagement reclassification effort and other strategic planning efforts.

* Other duties as assigned by the Office of Community Partnerships.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Master's degree in computer science, geospatial technologies or related fields, and a minimum of two years of professional experience in data management and assessment to include one-year of experience using statistical analysis packages and various software supporting data collection, analytics, and visualization

* API programming experience.

* Demonstrated ability to self-organize, plan, manage, and administer complex projects.

* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and appropriately (through written word and public speaking) with varied stakeholders.

* Experience guiding an institution or team through change.

* Experience in data assessment and evaluation at a program and institutional level.

* Demonstrated ability to learn new content areas quickly and be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.

* Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

* Proficiency with MS Office Teams and SharePoint.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

* Familiarity with GivePulse as a community engagement data tracking and management platform.

* Experience working in a higher education environment.
