Position SummaryReporting to the Associate Director of Clinical and Community Services in the Center for Workforce Development (CWD), the Community Engagement & Resources Coordinator will be responsible for the roles and duties described below. Essential Functions
  • Serve as liaison between the CWD and its community-based programs.
  • Build strong partnerships with external agencies and internal departments at the College.
  • Provide administrative support for community forums, workshops, and other events.
  • Oversee all aspects of referrals to community-based resources for program participants.
  • Serve as a bridge to link participants to community-based programs and services.
  • Ensure that program participants are connected to appropriate resources and services, and receive the care they need.
  • Document and track all community-based resources and referrals.
  • Maintain participant records in an organized and professional manner.
  • Foster positive and productive relationships with program participants, staff, faculty, internal departments, and external partner agencies.
  • Maintain on-going communication with program staff, partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the CWD and community-based agencies to implement project goals in a timely manner.
  • Perform other community engagement tasks, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • An associate degree in psychology, social work, human services or a related field; or a minimum of one year of work-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational, project coordination, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting the well-being of immigrants and other underserved populations.
  • Past or present engagement in community-based services with culturally diverse groups.
  • Experience with creating strong partnerships with community-based organizations and working with a diverse staff and student body.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and ability to relate well to individuals from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Experience with building and maintaining partnerships with community-based organizations.
  • Ability to adapt to the culture of a mission-drive, fast-paced educational environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining program participants' privacy and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and other web-based tools as well as social media platforms.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license.
Preference will be given to candidates with bilingual proficiency (e.g., English and Haitian Creole, Portuguese or Spanish) and those who have a background in prevention, public health, or behavioral health programming coordination.
