If so, the Greater St. Louis Area Council has an exciting part-time opportunity as Community Experiences Coordinator at Camp Warren Levis in Godfrey, IL. In this role, you will connect local schools and youth organizations with Camp Warren Levis, an outdoor camping facility offering unique learning opportunities. You'll call and visit local schools to promote camp, help coordinate their trips, and manage volunteers to assist during the school visits, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for the students.Key Responsibilities
- School and Youth Group Outreach: Proactively reach out to local schools, youth groups, and other organizations to encourage participation in the camp's educational programs.
- Trip Coordination: Work with schools and groups to schedule and organize trips to camp, ensuring a smooth experience from start to finish.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support the delivery of educational programs and activities.
- Program Delivery: Ensure that the educational programs run smoothly and meet the needs of visiting groups. Oversee the logistics and operations during school visits.
- Community Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with schools, youth organizations, and community leaders to promote the camp programs and secure ongoing support.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Flexibility is key-be ready to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to local schools and the camp for events and meetings.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
- Ability to build relationships and give leadership to volunteers.
- Passion for working with youth and delivering outdoor education experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on program scheduling and school visits.
Position DetailsWe offer a competitive pay rate of $20 per hour, with a maximum of 950 hours per year. Please note that hours can significantly vary week-to-week and month-to-month, depending on the number of camp programs and whether schools are in session. This role is perfect for someone with flexibility, as some weeks may have fewer or no hours, while others will offer more, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to add supplemental income.
