The WOC is responsible for completing assigned tasks to provide necessary and important community services; participate in community development programs; presenting educational seminars & WIC promotions to the community; developing promotional materials using multi-media; developing data resources; analyzing data related to caseload and coordinating liaisons and linkages with other related agencies. The WOC must also actively participate in all certification duties, as necessary. They also play a key role as part of the Breastfeeding Team.AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES1. Development and implementation of comprehensive WIC outreach plan.2. Design and implement data resources and tools, including analysis using Excel, Tableau, Google Analytics, andother relevant methodologies.3. Assessment and completion of income, residential and identity component of certification process, and all otherNutrition Assistant aspects.SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Overall planning, implementation and documentation of outreach/marketing component of the WIC Program.2. Analyze relevant data and apply to outreach planning activities.3. Conduct Public Health Detailing in accordance with NYSDOH policies.4. Develop outreach and marketing materials to promote the Morrisania WIC Program.5. Develop and implement a social media marketing campaign and tools.6. Conduct CookShop, FITWIC, food tastings, milk challenges and/or recipe demonstrations as necessary tocomplement the nutrition education routinely performed by the WIC Program.7. Establish relationships with new CBO's and other appropriate organizations, including providing appropriateTraining and presentations for targeted groups. Maintain relationships with existing organizations.8. Establish linkages with organizations in the food , hunger, maternal and child health and/or fitness communities.9. Coordinate the Annual Healthy Lifestyles Fair and other Morrisania-led event, in collaboration with the WICDirector and the WIC team.10. Participate in health fairs (during work hours, evenings and weekends), including Boogie Down the Boulevard,to promote the Morrisania WIC Program.11. Plan and post content on social media platforms; update the WIC Strong and NYC H+H WIC Program websites.12. Conduct in-person and virtual presentations to promote the Morrisania WIC Program.13. Document in the NYWIC Outreach module, including required tracking.14. Present Orientation and Rights and Responsibilities to participants for certification, when necessary. Teachparticipants how to use e-WIC card, WIC-2-Go App and WIC Health.15. Perform anthropometry and hematology assessments, if trained and required.16. Communicate with ACM, Nutrition Coordinator, Breastfeeding Coordinator or WIC Director regarding stafftraining needs.17. Maintain official Waiting List, according to established protocols and policies, when necessary.18. Assist Operations Manager/ACM to maintain EBT and Farmers' Market inventory.19. Utilize Auto-Dialer and Auto-Texter as part of Outreach Plan.20. Follow-up on all no-shows, via One Call Now, telephone calls, letters or other means of communication. Makereminder calls, when necessary.21. Comply with infection control and workplace safety NYCH+H and Gotham Health policies.22. Complete Annual In-Service training and exam, as well as all NYC H+H and WIC Program mandatory training.23. Comply with NYCH+H and NYSDOH HIPAA and Patient Safety policies.24. Conduct all duties through an equity lens, utilizing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusive approach for allparticipants, families, community members, colleagues and co-workers.25. Comply with all other duties associated with the major duties of the WIC Outreach Coordinator _CommunityLiaison Worker II as deemed necessary by the WIC Director in accordance with Gotham Health, NYC H+H,NYSDOH WIC and USDA policies and regulations.Minimum QualificationsFor Appointment to Level I 1. One year of full-time experience in a government agency or community organization in providing community services to the public or in assisting members of the community in obtaining community services; or 2. Completion of an approved six month training program of combined classroom training and on-the-job experience in community liaison work, plus six months of full-time experience as described in 1 above. For Appointment to Level II In addition to meeting the qualification requirements of Assignment Level I, appointment to Level II requires: 1. Two additional years of full-time experience in counseling, community work or community health activities in a government agency or community organization engaged in providing community services to the public, assisting members of the community in obtaining community services or maintaining liaison with schools, community organizations or other government agencies for the purpose of providing assistance and obtaining participation and support for implementation of community or public service programs; or 2. Education and/or experience equivalent to 1 above. Study at an accredited college in sociology, psychology or other behavioral science may be substituted on the basis of 30 semester credits for each year of the experience described above. However, all persons must have at least one year of the full-time experience described above. For Appointment to Level III In addition to meeting the qualification requirements of Assignment Level II, appointment to Level III requires: 1. One additional year of full-time experience as described in 1 above. For Appointment to Level IV In addition to meeting the qualification requirements for Assignment Level III, appointment to Level IV requires: 1.
