Job Description:

We are looking for a creative experienced Activity Manager to be responsible for oversight and implementation of resident activity and enrichment programming in a vibrant Continuing Care Retirement Community. The Community Life Manager facilitates the creation, planning, scheduling, and coordination of a wide variety of programming to enhance quality of life and engagement for residents. Additional duties include a supervisory role, budget process and responding to resident questions or concerns.

This position will develop and provide dementia programming utilizing proven practices and resources for engagement. Works with the interdisciplinary team in planning, coordinating and leading sessions in individual and group dementia programming. Provides consultation and education for individual activity plans. Maintains and submits resident billing as applicable.

Assists with the implementation and usability of resident engagement and communication technology platforms.

Applies information from resident surveys and direct feedback for program evaluation and quality improvement.

Oversees, schedules, and maintains common area meeting spaces in the Club Center and Activities Building. Supervises standardization of room set up options for each area of oversight to include furniture and audio/visual equipment.

Oversees all departmental budgeting processes including ordering equipment and supplies for programs and activities. Finds resolutions to any discrepancies.

Required Education and Experience

Associate or bachelor's degree in a Human Service or Recreation Therapy field; two (2) to four (4) years activity programming experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years of supervisory experience. Incumbents should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form, possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability, strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be proficient in the operation of office and audio/visual equipment and computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

Experience working with the geriatric population a plus. Outstanding customer service and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with individuals and groups are a must.
