About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate part-time Community Medical Respite Worker to join our team at the Medical Respite Program. This position is a float and supports the overall program schedule, varying each week. As a Community Medical Respite Worker, you will be responsible for providing support and care to patients who are experiencing homelessness and require medical attention. You will work closely with medical staff to ensure that patients receive the necessary care and support during their stay at the MR. Your role will be critical in helping patients transition from the Medical Respite Program to a stable living situation.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or in a medical setting
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification
* Medication Aide/Technician Training (32 or 68 hours)
* Experience working in a medical respite program
Responsibilities:
* Provide direct care and support to patients in the Medical Respite Program
* Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patients receive appropriate medical care
* Assist patients with activities of daily living
* Prepare meals and manage kitchen clean-up
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
* Assist with discharge planning and coordination of follow-up care
Skills:
As a Community Medical Respite Worker, you will utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients and medical staff.
