Starting at $15.87This position is for the Balsam Center, a 16 bed inpatient psychiatric unit that specializes in psychiatric and addiction treatment for adults. The Balsam Center, a part of Appalachian Community Services, offers effective and evidence-based care for 7 counties in Western North Carolina. We are truly committed to improving the health of the people and communities we serve.We are seeking a Community Mental Health Assistant to work full-time to provide support services such as monitoring, supervision of clients, assisting with meals, transportation to offsite activities (unit specific), facilitating as directed, goals and recovery education groups, peer support techniques (for staff with peer support training), intervention in client's behavior per protocol and under supervision, assisting clients with completion of daily living skills, visual monitoring of all clients per acuity protocol, provide accurate reports, complete required documentation, vital signs, and completion of any assigned paperwork and documentation.Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED. Prefer one year's experience working with population served, or Certification as a CNA or PSS.We are an equal opportunity employer.
