Job Summary
The Sudanese American Physician Association (SAPA) seeks a dynamic, strategic, and experienced Community Outreach and Fundraising Director to lead efforts in building partnerships, raising funds, and fostering community relationships. This individual will play a crucial role in expanding SAPA's outreach initiatives, increasing its visibility, and securing financial resources that support SAPA's mission to provide healthcare and humanitarian aid for communities in Sudan and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Development
• Develop and implement a comprehensive community-based fundraising strategy, including identifying potential donors, foundations, and family trusts and securing fundraising events with local mosques across the USA.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and philanthropic organizations.
• Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns to engage the SAPA community and drive donations.
• Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities, ensuring timely reporting and donor acknowledgment.
Community Outreach and Engagement
• Design and lead outreach programs to engage communities, healthcare organizations, and like-minded nonprofits to support SAPA's mission.
• Foster relationships with local, national, and international organizations, including potential partners, especially among religious-based groups.
• Represent SAPA at community events, conferences, and meetings to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create outreach materials, such as newsletters, social media posts, and press releases.
Strategic Partnerships
• Identify and develop partnerships with healthcare organizations, religious organizations, and advocacy groups that align with SAPA's goals.
• Work closely with SAPA leadership to engage and build partnerships with religious-based organizations.
• Explore collaborations with global organizations to expand SAPA's reach and impact in Sudan and neighboring regions.
Reporting and Analytics
• Track and analyze outreach and fundraising metrics to evaluate program effectiveness.
• Report on fundraising progress, outreach efforts, and critical metrics to the Executive Director and board members.
• Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and enhance community engagement.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in fundraising, community outreach, or nonprofit development, preferably within a healthcare or humanitarian context.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals, especially securing fundraising events with local mosques across the USA and developing donor relationships.
• Excellent communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
