JOB TITLE Community Resource Coordinator PROGRAM Post Release Services REPORTS TO Assistant Program Director SALARY $36.06 Hourly LOCATION New York City, NY Bronx, NY JOB TYPE Full-Time Exempt WORK SCHEDULE Five Days per Week, 40 Hours per Week General Description The Community Resource Coordinator is responsible for building and managing a robust local partner network that can be mobilized to serve vulnerable children and their families, particularly those within the immigrant community. This position will play a central role in sourcing, managing, structuring, negotiating, and closing results-oriented key partnerships within their community ecosystem. The Community Resource Coordinator will work closely with program staff as a connector to key community agencies providing necessary resources for program clients and will work closely with staff to inform them of newly developed resources and in some cases, facilitate the development of programming responses to address unmet needs. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of experience in community-based and/or faith-based organizations OR high school diploma and at least eight (8) years of experience in community-based organizations, especially in the faith-based ecosystem.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with potential partners and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • A valid driver's license to travel for meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field i.e. Sociology, Psychology, Human Services
What You'll Be Doing
  • Will carry a small caseload of post release services, as needed.
  • Ensure staff comply with US and ORR policies, procedures, and mandated timeframes.
  • Responsible for the supervision of staff providing home study and post release services, and oversight of the department for PRS Level I and II Cases.
  • Gather and continuously report the progress of expected outcomes and implement improvement strategies.
  • Evaluate recommendations made by staff on sponsor's ability to provide appropriate care and a safe environment for the child.
  • Assess, identify, verify, and provide recommendations in areas where additional support, resources, or information may be needed to meet a child's needs and provisions of a safe environment.
  • Provide guidance on trauma informed crisis intervention strategies and services, as needed, or connect family to services to ensure child's safety and well-being in a crisis.
  • Assist in the coordination and scheduling of interviews, home visits, management of caseloads and travel for staff.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, safeguard confidential records, and protect personally identifiable information according to program regulations.
  • Identify and report concerns related to children and sponsors, life-changing events and significant incidences to the program administration and ORR. Act as a mandated reporter and report abuse/neglect to child protective services and law enforcement according to the requirements by the state where services are being provided.
  • Participate in training, and meetings, and maintain quality improvement initiatives as recommended.
  • This role requires travel to provide services, and conduct meetings with staff in surrounding areas in the U.S.
  • Related duties as assigned and may be revised as needed to meet program needs.
