The Community Resource Developer is primarily responsible for coordinating and facilitating the recruitment, training, and licensing of foster families. This individual will also be responsible for the intake and placement of refugee youth in out-of-home placements in coordination with their supervisor and peers. This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the development and implementation of innovative recruitment techniques for foster families;
- Complete intake screening of prospective foster families in a timely manner;
- Develop and present an informative orientation for prospective foster parents;
- Assist prospective foster parents through the initial screening and licensing procedures;
- Monitor the relicensing of foster homes within refugee services in compliance with state, federal and agency requirements;
- Review referral information in coordination with foster care staff and supervisor for appropriate out-of-home placements;
- Audit foster home files to ensure compliance with all state, federal and agency requirements;
- Work cooperatively with the caseworkers and supervisors in liaison activities with the foster homes and the community;
- Ensure foster home licensing, recruitment and placement are in compliance with agency, state and federal requirements;
- Notify case managers and foster parents of rule violations and work cooperatively to correct violations through special investigations;
- Assist in the planning and execution of activities, events and other efforts to retain foster parents;
- Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction;
- Advise case managers on licensing and placement regulations as needed;
- Assist with the training on new staff, as requested;
- Attend internal and external trainings and apply newly gained knowledge on the job;
- Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, or related field of study from an accredited college; Master's degree in Human Services, or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred;
- At least two (2) years of prior experience in child welfare or refugee services, preferred;
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish, a plus;
- Demonstrated ability to service a diverse group of clients, to include refugees or other minority families;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality;
- Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite;
- Must be 21 years old with a valid driver'slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalfof Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain areliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
- Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
- Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment.
