Position Summary:
The Community Solutions Veterinary Care Manager reporting to the Director of Community Solutions, is responsible for developing, improving, and implementing innovative programs and partnerships that preserve the human-animal bond. This position is focused on increasing access to care while fostering a supportive team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
* Lead by action and example to advance a culture of positivity, professionalism, trust, transparency, empathy, and excellence at Joybound.
* Align programs with the organization's core values, goals, strategic commitments, DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) initiatives, and community needs.
* Support a high performing team in a dynamic and evolving department.
* Develop and train a team, providing ongoing support and recognition to drive commitment to the mission.
* Foster collaboration within the veterinary community to link pet guardians with essential resources that promote their pets' health and prevent suffering.
Program Management
* In collaboration with the Director of Community Solutions, develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution.
* Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, using data-driven insights to make improvements.
* Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate program outcomes, best practices, and recommendations for future initiatives to diverse audiences.
* Build and maintain relationships with partners, community members, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and gather feedback throughout the program lifecycle.
* Recruit and manage relationships of a robust portfolio of veterinary professionals to meet and exceed program goals.
* In collaboration with the Director of Community Solutions, develop and implement training curriculum, consistently streamlining and modernizing content and delivery systems to ensure training meets teams' needs.
* Respectfully and compassionately counsel community members seeking assistance, advice, and referrals for pet-related matters.
* Create and oversee a diverse range of veterinary solutions tailored to address the various needs of our community.
Administration & Reporting
* Prepare monthly statistical reports, including tracking of program metrics and other reports as needed, managing and analyzing data.
* Maintain departmental budget by tracking budgeted expenses and departmental impact data, reporting metrics to illustrate effectiveness.
* In partnership with MarCom, craft compelling narratives to showcase the impact of our programs by capturing insights from clients and team members.
* Write and maintain accurate case notes for clients.
* Maintain confidentiality of all information.
Additional Responsibilities
* Fulfill commitments to corporate and individual sponsors in a way that inspires sponsor satisfaction and renewal.
* Support events, fundraising, and media spots as requested.
* Drive Joybound vehicles as assigned and follow safe driving practices.
* Other duties as assigned.

* Ability to assess data and trends to inform program development decisions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting.
* Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and partners.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and address issues and opportunities.
* Ability to pivot and adjust strategies based on feedback and changing circumstances.
* Proficient in program management software (e.g., Asana, Trello), data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint). Familiarity with CRM systems and collaboration platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) is a plus. Ability to learn new database systems and develop consistent procedures for these systems.
* Experienced and comfortable working in a veterinary hospital setting, with exposure to sick and injured animals and surgical environments.
* Must have a valid California Driver's License and must not have more than two at-fault incidents in a three-year period and no major at-fault violations in the last ten years and must be insured.
* Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required.
* At least two years of experience in the veterinary field preferred or
* At least two years of experience in case management and/or social work field preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Specific physical abilities required by this job include:
* Work environment includes constant exposure to animals and animal allergens.
* Tetanus and rabies inoculations are required or must be waived.
* Drive an automobile.
* Flex the neck upward and downward; twist the neck and the waist.
* Sit for extended periods of time while using a computer.
* Push/pull moderately heavy objects up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
* Lift and move objects up to 50 pounds for short distances with reasonable accommodation.
* Complete physical work relative to setting up and breaking down event sites, loading/unloading trucks, moving tables & chairs, etc.
* Kneel, bend, stoop, squat, reach above and below shoulder level, grasp and turn objects, stand, and/or walk frequently and repetitively throughout each shift.
* Sit through meetings of an hour or longer.
Hours:
Full-time, exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. Some weekend work required. Hours and workdays may vary according to the needs of the department.
