Commuter Life Assistants are campus leaders committed to delivering a premier commuter experience through hospitality, engagement, and service. Supervised by the Assistant Director of Commuter Engagement, this position contributes to an engaging and Christ-centered commuter student experience by assisting the Commuter Life Team and representing the Office of Student Life. They help to create a welcoming Commuter Lounge experience, provide event support, and fulfils other duties that meet the needs of commuters. The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, service-oriented, relational and outgoing with a passion for serving and supporting commuter students. Additionally, they should have strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work well with others and problem-solve.Essential Functions and Responsibilities1. Represent the Office of Student Life through reception, email inbox management, and tabling at campus events.2. Support commuter engagement through lounge operations, hospitality, coffee management, and event planning and support.3. Serve commuter student needs through the Commuter Food Pantry, Community Board management, and Commuter Locker assignments.4. Support commuter student development through program preparation and support and coordinating social connections and personal growth.5. Receive training and ongoing development through team training, professional development, mentorship, and special projects.6. Other Duties as assigned.Additional information may be found hereQualifications, Credentials, and CompetenciesMinimum Qualifications:1. Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.2. GPA of 2.5 or above.3. Some experience in a volunteer or service capacity.Preferred Qualifications:1.
