RequirementsEXPECTATIONS: The Companion Caregiver must be flexible with day-to-day changes in their daily schedule, based on the needs of residents. Possess a sensitivity and aptitude for working with disabled and vulnerable adults. Prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently. Possess strong communication and reasoning skills Possess skills to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and other customers. Possess the ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and documentation, including medical terminology, in English. Be punctual with a good attendance record. Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills. Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting or supporting clients and standing, walking, bending, for extended periods. Experience in supporting ADL support is a requirement.QUALIFICATIONS: High School education preferred. Must be 18 yrs. of age or older. CPR/First Aid certification preferred. Previous experience caring/working with the elderly or people with disabilities is preferred. Experience in supporting ADL support is a requirement. Physical stamina is necessary to care for resident in your charge. Must live out company's values and maintain a values score of 4+. Must be able to pass a criminal and/or abuse background check, and drug screening. Reliable transportation Driver's License and proof of valid car insurance requiredESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties and Responsibilities: Provide conversation and personal engagement to resident(s) in your charge. Support resident(s) socialization goals. Complete documentation as required of all completed tasks. Provide transportation to resident(s) in your charge to medical/other appointments, social activities, shopping, or other locations/events off site as needed. Support resident(s) with toileting/changing as needed while offsite. The ability to take detailed note from provider during medical appointments is a requirement.
