The Beacon of LIFE center was established to deliver PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) services. The PACE model is centered on the belief that it is better for the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs and their families to be served in the community whenever possible.We are currently looking for a Companion to join our team. Full-Time positions include a full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, PTO, 401k. and tuition reimbursement. * Bilingual Candidates Needed *Position Summary:Under the supervision of the Home Care Coordinator, Home Services Assistant is responsible for providing and assisting participants with supportive care, limited to the duties and responsibilities described below, necessary to maintain the participant in a safe home environment.Qualifications and Requirements:Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: A minimum of one year's experience in working with a frail or elderly population.Valid New Jersey driver's license and proof of insurance* Bilingual Candidates Needed *Skills and Knowledge:* Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, co-workers, and the public.* Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.* Ability to work with a frail and cognitively impaired populationGeneral Responsibilities:* Scan home environment for safety issues and report any new hazards to their supervisor.* Perform laundry services including drying, folding, and putting away of clothing after laundering.* Perform grocery shopping and put away groceries in appropriate area.* Assists participant with housekeeping that is specific to the participants living area* Light dusting* Light vacuuming of carpet* Sweeping and mopping floors* Wash Dishes/load dishwasher* Take out trash* Documents services provided to participants consistently and accurately via approved system/Daily Activity Record. Contacts supervisor for any questions or need for clarification of the plan or to report problems in implementing plan.* Reports pertinent information regarding participants in a timely manner to appropriate team members and supervisor.* Performs other tasks as assigned by Home Care Coordinator /R.N as instructed (within scope of allowable practice).* Participates in and supports Quality Improvement Initiatives.* Follow all Beacon of LIFE Policies and Procedures and OSHA safety guidelines* Maintain the confidentially of all company procedures and information about participants, clients or families.* Handle potentially infectious specimens with appropriate biohazard precautions and practice standard precautions.Monday - Friday9:00 am- 2:00 pmPart-Time
