PART TIME- NON EXEMPT

General Summary: To provide clinical mental health personal support services, housekeeping laundry services, food shopping and transportation in coordination with multi-disciplinary team.

Schedule: Mon-Fri, First Shift

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Utilize comprehensive nursing assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations in direct client care.
  • Monitor medications, teach clients effective techniques for managing medications and assist clients in adhering to prescribed regimens.
  • Monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning. Consult with Registered Nurse other treatment staff.
  • Take vital signs and monitor patients for bruises, other injuries/wounds.
  • Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and doctors.
  • Assist with meal preparation, serving and monitoring of nutritional status.
  • Coach and assist light housekeeping and maintaining hygienic living environment.
  • Assist individuals in transferring from bed to commode to chair.
  • Turn or reposition patients who are bedridden.
  • Collaborate with other providers, agencies and individuals in the client's network of care.
  • Coordinate services within the Thrive as needed.
  • Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Produce, complete, and maintain billing forms, logs, data collection forms, clinical documentation and client records in accordance with Thrive standards and state and federal regulations.
  • Carry and enliven a positive Thrive image consistent with the Thrive's Guiding Principles and professional code of ethics.
Qualifications

Education, Experience and Competencies:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant credentialing and experience required.
  • Minimum (1) year experience in mental health setting working with clients with disabilities preferred.
  • Experience or training in related state and federal assistance programs also preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy skills are necessary.

Certifications, Licenses Requirements:

  • Rhode Island certified nursing assistant certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.

Reports To:

Complex Care IHH CNA reports directly to Nurse Supervisor and will be supervised according to Thrive Behavioral Health Supervision Policy.
