COMPLIANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR

Job Description:

Primary Function:

The Compliance & Risk Management Coordinator initiates, maintains and/or supports compliance and risk management initiatives and documentation at UCC to ensure compliance with local, State and/or Federal regulatory requirements and to encourage an ongoing focus on maintaining a culture of safety [under the direction of the Senior Director of Compliance].

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage the Policy and Procedure system at UCC, including: maintenance of organization-wide database, maintenance of staff reminder system (for P&P reviews/revisions), maintenance of SharePoint folders and accurate publishing of 'active' P&Ps, and other related activities.

* Support methods to reduce UCC's vulnerability to non-compliance and to fraud and abuse, such as by conducting periodic audits to identify areas of potential compliance vulnerability and risk and communicating results to supervisor (and subsequently developing mitigation strategies and working with others to implement and monitor).

* Collaborate with other UCC staff to discuss compliance issues, concerns, policies or standard operating procedures relative to their department(s) and to support the establishment of appropriate actions to improve compliance/reduce vulnerability.

* Manage the risk management training program at UCC, including:

* Learning and maintaining administrator access in the UCC online learning management system (LMS).

* Performing all functions within the LMS to ensure (i) appropriate access for all [applicable] staff, and (ii) timely assignment of trainings to all staff within each department (according to training calendar).

* Maintain up-to-date risk management training calendar.

* Work with other Supervisors to maintain the risk management training program, including all related documentation (i.e. tracking tool, etc.).

* Oversee the incident reporting system by routing and tracking all reported incidents; and, ensuring documentation of all incidents in a tracking resource to facilitate trend identification and quarterly [and annual] reporting.

* Send notices to applicable staff (supervisors and assigned reviewers) to ensure appropriate closure of all reported incidents.

* Support UCC managers and others on 330/FQHC compliance assessment and documentation consistent with HRSA/BPHC resources (Health Center Program Compliance Manual and Site Visit Protocol); and, work collaboratively with supervisor and others as needed to maintain ongoing compliance.

* Support supervisor and other managers on the completion of 330 FQHC required applications and reports - i.e. SAC applications, BPR/NCC Reports, UDS Reports, FTCA applications, etc.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Basic Knowledge:

Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Health Care Administration or equivalent field

Experience & Qualifications:

* Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff.

* Highly effective communicator in writing and presentation.

* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

* Must possess strong time management skills.

Independent Action:

Works independently on assigned projects and refers to supervisor for guidance on an as needed basis.

None.
