- Assist in maintaining 206(4)-7 compliance program designed to prevent violations of relevant securities regulations while also monitoring various other non-SEC compliance and legal risk areas.
- Maintain and revise compliance policies and procedures manuals to adhere to applicable state, federal and self-regulatory organization laws, rules, and regulations.
- Coordinate responses to annual and other compliance reviews, manage general correspondences and updates, etc.
- Understand and effectively communicate key requirements of firm policies and regulatory requirements. Translate this knowledge into action plans and recommendations as appropriate to address risks.
- Conduct forensic testing and annual reviews related to the adherence of routine duties in:
- Marketing Materials Review, Email Monitoring, Anti-Money Laundering, Suitability, Disaster Recovery, Insider Trading, Ethics, Privacy, Valuation, Best Execution, Contributions, and all other risk areas as contemplated under the Firm's policies and procedures.
- Prepare annual written reports documenting summaries of review results and material compliance matters for senior management.
- Manage the firm's vendor due diligence process (onboarding, ongoing monitoring, etc.)
- Research industry regulatory changes and summarize updates to ensure compliance.
- Ensure employee adherence to compliance policies and regulations.
- Assist with Firm regulatory examination pre-work.
- Assist with collection and monitoring of Code of Ethics documentation including:
- Manage restricted lists, preclearance request approvals, vigilance regarding trading patterns and review of personal trading.
- Outside business activity documentation and disclosure; including Gift disclosures.
- State/Local/Federal political contributions.
- All other identified conflicts of interest.
- Facilitate compliance onboarding training for new employees and ongoing training for all employees, including development of materials for such trainings.
- Create and implement best practices checklists and monthly/quarterly/annual compliance task and compliance documentation checklists.
- Complete ad hoc projects as requested by the compliance team.
- Various administrative functions as further detailed below.
Legal and Administrative Functions
- Business licenses renewal (familiarity with CT or CSC a plus). Prepare and file formation documents for various business entities, including qualifications, amendments, dissolutions etc.
- Maintain the firm's records for financings, acquisitions, and funds, ensuring that all deal and fund-related documentation has been received and stored in the correct folder(s). This includes staying on top of outstanding requests, following up with external counsel, properties, etc.
- Assist with drafting closing documents and signature packages.
- Assist with filings of investment adviser registration statements on Form ADV and other SEC related filings.
- Project manage and serve as primary point of contact for compliance and legal projects.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree or better in finance, accounting, legal or related field.
- 3-4 years of experience employed by a financial services firm or consulted in a compliance role at an SEC registered investment adviser.
- Minimum 1 year experience of monitoring employee reporting and compliance with Code of Ethics policies using a compliance software tool such as MyComplianceOffice, ComplySci or similar electronic compliance reporting system
- Must have strong proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other applicable accounting software.
- A demonstrated track record of successfully building and managing processes.
- Superior organization, presentation, and project management skills.
- Previous experience with SEC filings and regulations for Registered Investment Advisors preferred.

Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary.
