LCG Advisors is seeking a Compliance Associate for our Consumer Finance Group. This role is integral to the development of a new compliance auditing product, offering high visibility and regular interaction with clients and subject companies, including major financial institutions, institutional lenders, and consumer finance companies. Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct compliance-focused due diligence and testing for consumer finance portfolios, evaluating adherence to key consumer finance regulations, such as Regulation Z (TILA), Regulation F (FDCPA), Regulation B (ECOA), FCRA, and others.
- Assist in conducting financial due diligence projects for existing clients while establishing the standalone compliance product.
- Collaborate with the Director of Consumer Finance in designing and building a compliance audit framework that addresses regulatory requirements across federal, state, and local consumer protection laws.
- Review and document compliance policies and procedures of the client or subject company, identifying potential risks or regulatory gaps.
- Prepare comprehensive written reports that outline findings, key insights, and recommendations for improved regulatory adherence.
- Engage in professional interactions with clients and subject companies, including conference calls, meetings, and periodic updates to discuss audit progress and findings.
- Work closely with management teams at the client or subject company to gather insights into operational practices and compliance-related observations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, law, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interest in consumer finance compliance and regulations; prior exposure to financial due diligence or consumer finance compliance preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and Word, or other data analysis tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients, subject companies, and internal teams and to learn new concepts quickly.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Flexibility for travel (approximately 50% initially, with potential to evolve as the business grows).
